Dear NGO and youth representatives,
General Assembly resolution A/56/266 of 27 March 2002, entitled
"Comprehensive implementation and follow-up to the World Conference
against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related
Intolerance," requests the High Commissioner for Human Rights to report
annually to the General Assembly and the Commission on Human Rights on
progress made in the implementation of the provisions of the Durban
Declaration and Programme of Action. You can consult last year's report
to the General Assembly (A/58/324) at
http://www.un.org/ga/58/documentation/list3.html.
The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights would like to
invite all NGOs with ECOSOC status, as well as organizations which were
accredited specifically to the World Conference against Racism, Racial
Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, to send their
contributions for this year's report to the Anti-Discrimination Unit by
11 June 2004.
Organizations should indicate their accreditation status on their
submissionin order for it to be taken into consideration. If
submissions are sent by e-mail, please indicate "GA report" in the
subject line. It would be appreciated if contributions could be limited
to one page.
