UDMR NOW NOT WILLING TO CANCEL PROTOCOL, THOUGH PSD HURT THE MAGYARS
CLUJ-NAPOCA - UDMR chairman Marko Bela stated on Friday October 3 that
the Union does not threaten to cancel the protocol with PSD, even if the
governance party sent "a serious and offensive message to the Magyar
nation ", by "obstructing " re-erection of the Liberty Statue in Arad.
Marko Bela said in a press conference that premier Adrian Nastase made a
major mistake when let himself pushed up by the "ultra nationalists "
who were against replacing the monument, according to Mediafax. The UDMR
leader stated that he understands the discontentment of the Magyar
communitys members as regards the governance partys lack of observance
to some protocol issues,
yet that UDMR, at present, is not willing to cancel cooperation with
PSD. Marko Bela stated dissatisfied with PSD having not kept its promise
to re-erect the Liberty Statue in Arad, but said there should be no rush
in making a decision. "Obstructing re-erection of the Liberty Statue in
Arad is a serious and offensive message against the Magyar nation from
Romania. PSD should reconsider its arguments, because the cooperation
between the two parties tightened on mutual interest ", said Marko.
