The Metropolitan Bishopric of Basarabia will file a complaint
referring to priests' expulsion

The Head of the Metropolitan Bishopric Chancellery from Basarabia,
Deacon Andrei Deleu, declared that the Metropolitan Bishopric would
file a complaint at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) after
the authorities of the Republic of Moldova demanded that four priests
and a nun leave the territory of the state, Mediafax announces,
quoting BBC Romania. According to the Republic of Moldova authorities,
the priests violated, as Romanian citizens, local immigration laws.
The Head of the Metropolitan Bishopric Chancellery of Basarabia
appreciated that actions taken against the priests are part of further
persecution attempts, initiated by the high officials of the Republic
of Moldova. "We consider that these actions represent a further
attempt of the Republic of Moldova authorities to intimidate and to
challenge the Metropolitan Bishopric of Basarabia," Priest Deleu
declared, adding that, subsequently, the Metropolitan Bishopric of
Basarabia intends to file a complaint at the ECHR, as soon as
possible. "We have no other choice than to submit a further complaint
at the European Court of Human Rights, as the ECHR Resolution of
December 13, 2001 regarding the Metropolitan Bishopric of Basarabia
was not applied completely but, on the contrary, it was followed by
sudden attacks against the Metropolitan Bishopric of Basarabia,"

explained.
