Still two Roma Deputies in the Parliament

08/12/2008 - Even though at the recent parliamentarian elections were
seven candidates that assumed the Roma ethnical origin, only two of them
succeeded in the Deputy Chamber.

They are, in fact, experienced parliamentarians: Madalin Voicu (from
PSD+PC) and Nicolae Paun (Roma Party).

Here are the votes obtained by the Roma representatives in the general
elections from November 30:

- Dana Rozalia Varga � a candidate for National Liberal Party (PNL) from
Timis county. She came on the third place after obtaining 2434 votes.

- Gruia Ioan Bumbu � a candidate for National Liberal Party (PNL) in the
uninominal precinct 20 from Bucharest. He came on the 4th place from
6,40% from the voters choice.

- Costel Bercus � a candidate from PSD+PC in Calarasi. He obtained 1497
of votes.

- Nicolae Paun candidate for �Pro Europe� Roma Party obtained 43.884
votes at the national level.

- Madalin Voicu - a candidate from PSD+PC in Giurgiu County, coming
first in his precinct, obtained 6385 votes.
