Minority Rights Group International (MRG) is a UK-based non-governmental
organisation working to secure the rights of ethnic, religious and
linguistic minorities and indigenous peoples worldwide, and to promote
cooperation and understanding between communities. MRG’s activities are
focused on international advocacy, training, publishing and outreach and
are guided by the needs expressed by our worldwide network of minority
and indigenous partner organisations.

Minority Rights Group Europe, MRG’s regional office based in Hungary, is
currently accepting applications for the following positions:
 
1. Europe and Central Asia Programme Officer
2. Programmes Assitant (Europe)
 
Europe and Central Asia Programme Officer
 
This is a 3 year position, full time for the first year, and part time
in years 2 and 3, based in MRG’s Hungary Office. We are looking for a
Programmes Officer to work on the implementation of the new programme on
Advancing Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups in Southeast Europe: Minority
Rights Advocacy in the EU Accession Process. The programme, jointly run
with partners from the region, consists of organizing seminars,
producing publications and conducting a variety of advocacy activities. 

You will be educated to degree level and have good knowledge of human
and minority rights, EU accession process, as well as experience of
working on or in the region. You will have at least two year’s
experience of working in the field of human rights or development as
well as strong administration skills. Knowledge of Hungarian is
essential.

Programmes Assistant (Europe)
 
We are looking for a Programmes Assistant to assist on the financial
administration and implementation of programmes for the Hungary office.
You should have at least 2 years’ experience of administrative/finance
work and be able to effectively communicate in oral and in writing in
both English and Hungarian. 
You will be educated to degree level and have some knowledge of human
and minority rights. Knowledge of the region is desirable.
