Announcement of Vacancy: Women's Rights Officer

The European Roma Rights Center (ERRC) herewith invites applications for
the position of Women's Rights Officer. The Women's Rights Officer will
join the ERRC team in the framework of the ERRC Programmes Department,
International Advocacy Unit, and will be responsible inter alia for:

- Developing ERRC policies related to womens rights, rights of the child
and other human rights/Roma rights issues as they pertain to gender,
including sexual orientation issues (hereinafter "womens rights and
related fields");
- Researching international and domestic advocacy opportunities related
to womens rights and related fields;
- Writing ERRC policy and submission documents related to womens rights
and related fields;
- Engaging in research, including field research, as necessary for ERRC
activities in womens rights and related fields;
- Engaging in ERRC project work and roundtable/workshop activities in
womens rights and related fields;
- Introducing a gender component to all relevant ERRC activities;
- Communicating ERRC womens rights/gender/related goals to Romani
activists and other members of the Romani communities, as well as
seeking input from members of Romani communities and other relevant as
to ERRC womens rights and related strategies;
- Other, as relevant.

Required Qualifications:
- Excellent written and spoken English;
- Extensive knowledge of and familiarity with issues facing Roma and
Romani communities;
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with gender issues;
- Familiarity with international human rights law and intergovernmental
bodies relevant to human rights issues in Europe;
- A university degree, preferably in law, human rights, political
science or a related humanities or social science field.

Also Prefered:
- Knowledge of Romani language;
- Previous experience in human rights;

Salary and Benefits: Commensurate with experience
