Officer on Roma and Sinti Issues, ODIHR , Warsaw 

The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) is
looking for a qualified candidate who , under the direct supervision of
the Adviser on Roma and Sinti Issues, will work on projects to promote
the rights of Roma. Your duties will be to identify, develop,
co-ordinate, and evaluate the implementation of specific projects to
promote the rights of the Roma ethnic minority in the OSCE region. You
will analyze and report on the situation of Roma and Sinti in OSCE
participating States as well as facilitate contacts and other forms of
co-operation with Roma communities and liaise with relevant national
institutions. You will also work with OSCE institutions and field
missions and presences to implement OSCE commitments pertaining to Roma
and Sinti. You will maintain contacts with other international
organizations, research and academic institutions and NGOs on Roma and
Sinti issues, in particular the action plan for improving the situation
of the Roma and Sinti in the OSCE area. You will also represent the
Contact Point in the absence of the supervisor and perform other duties
as requirted. 

Necessary Qualification 

University degree in International Relations/Political
Science, Social Sciences or another related field; advanced degree
preferred. Four years of professional work experience and/or experience
at international level. Knowledge of the functioning of relevant
national institutions, government offices or involvement in the
activities of non-governmental organizations would be very helpful.
Excellent knowledge of English with good drafting skills. Working
knowledge of a second language of the OSCE and/or Romani language would
be an asset. Ability to establish and maintain effective working
relations with people of different national and cultural backgrounds
whilst remaining impartial and objective.
