Anapa city court decision to deport two Meskhetians will be appealed
against

On 16 December 2003 Anapa city court judge Lantukh V.V. ruled that
Muradov Luftiy Muguddinovich (born in 1952) and Muradov Rivdan
Lutfievich (born in 1972) have to be deported from the Russian
Federation.

Both individuals are citizens of the former USSR, Turks-Meskhetians who
were forced to relocate from Uzbekistan SSR to RSFSR in 1989. They were
permanently residing on farmstead Svet in Varenikovskiy rural parish of
Krymskiy rajon Krasnodarskiy kraj. Defendants were not present at the
hearing of this administrative case, and even were not informed about
where and when the hearing had to take place. On 22 December 2003 this
ruling was passed on to Krymskiy ROVD for implementation at Muradovs'
place of residence. Muradovs have contacted a lawyer of Krymskiy
consultation center on 26 December. A cassation complaint has been
lodged to Judicial Board of Kraj Court. At the moment, lawyers and human
rights defenders are working on this case.
