ANTISEMITISM PLAYS A ROLE IN UKRAINE'S CRISIS

For years, some Ukrainian oppositionists have been flirting with
antisemites.  The increasingly authoritarian government exploits this
fact and often exaggerates it against the opposition in order to
alienate its potential Western supporters and frighten the West into
supporting President Leonid Kuchma and/or his designated successor.
