The International Centre for the Legal Protection of Human Rights is
seeking to recruit a
SENIOR LEGAL OFFICER, CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPE AND THE FORMER SOVIET
UNION
The Senior Legal Officer will implement the current programme of work in
the region, develop an appropriate programme strategy, assess new
opportunities for the legal protection of human rights and identify
potential partner organisations for collaborative work. S/he will also
provide legal advice to partners as appropriate, draft legal briefs in
cases in which INTERIGHTS intervenes and design and implement regional
thematic projects in the CEE and fSU.
This is a challenging role and the successful candidate will have a
sound knowledge of and professional experience in the application of
international human rights law within the CEE and fSU. S/he will have a
law degree, a minimum of five years related experience in litigation,
and ideally experience of teaching or training. Salary is in accordance
with skills and experience, and ranges from �30,806 - �36,347. A 5%
contribution towards a pension will be made. Fluency in English and
Russian is essential, and knowledge of other languages is desirable.
The Senior Legal Officer will join a staff of sixteen, including eight
lawyers. S/he will be based in London, but will travel often.
