Vacancy Notice

The Centre for OSCE Research in Hamburg, Germany is looking for an
experienced researcher with a political science (International
Relations) and Central Asia background for a two-year research project
(2003-2004) on "Security through Democratization. Comparative case
studies on the goals, adequacy and effectiveness of the OSCE's
security-oriented democratization measures in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and
Uzbekistan". 

The successful applicant will be based in Hamburg and will be working
with a team of five researchers (two in Hamburg; one in each of the
countries under analysis). The responsibilities and tasks of the two
researchers based in Germany will be assigned according to their
respective qualifications. 

Required qualifications and experience:

-  Ph.D. in Political Science or related areas;
-  Good command of English and Russian, both orally and in writing;
-  Research experience in at least one of the following states:
Kazakhstan, Tajikistan or Uzbekistan;
-  Managerial abilities.

January 2002.


Salary:  Remuneration is based on the German standard MTV IIa.
