Dear NGO representatives,
General Assembly Resolution A/56/266, of 27 March 2002, entitled:
"Comprehensive implementation and follow-up to the World Conference
against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related
Intolerance" requests the High Commissioner for Human Rights to report
annually to the General Assembly on progress made in the
implementation of the provisions of the Durban Declaration and
Programme of Action.
In this context, the Office would like to invite all NGOs with ECOSOC
status, as well as organisations which were accredited specifically to
the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia
and Related Intolerance, to forward their contributions to the
Anti-Discrimination Unit by 21 June 2002.
Organizations should indicate their accreditation status on their
submission in order for it to be taken into consideration. If
submissions are sent by e-mail, please indicate "GA report" in the
subject line. It would also be appreciated if contributions could be
limited to one page.
