UNIVERSITY OF ARTS IN BELGRADE

In the framework of its Interdisciplinary postgraduate studies and in
cooperation with UNESCO, introduces:

STUDIES OF INTERCULTURALISM, ART MANAGEMENT AND MEDIATION ON THE BALKANS 

The Studies are planned as the set of specialized M.A. courses or
training in the field of cultural policies, cultural identity and art
management, as well as in the field of communication and media, with the
specific emphasis on the region of the South Eastern Europe as a complex
cultural entity. 

Group for Studies of Intrerculturalism, Art Management and Mediation on
the Balkans treats the culture from various aspects. Introducing this
type of studies which include intercultural approach to the theatre,
cinema, visual arts, art management and marketing, regional cultural
scene will be enriched with young professionals and leaders in all these
fields who will foster the emergence of cultural identity open to
distinctiveness as well as integrate the variety of cultural traditions
presented in the region of the Balkans and their own countries.

A two-year study programme organized in Serbian and English language. 
As of 2002/03 academic year the Group for Studies of Intrerculturalism,
Art Management and Mediation on the Balkans will enrol minimum of 20
postgraduates. Tuition fee is 500 EUR annually. 
Studies are intended for postgraduates from the region, especially to
those from small cities.

- Cultural management and intercultural issues, (dr Milena Dragicevic

- Art traditions and interpretation, (dr Nevena Dakovic, dr Miodrag
Suvakovic)
- Interculturalism, the arts, cultural identity and diversity of the
Balkans, (Vlada Milcin, dr Efi Karpodini, dr Nada Svob Djokic)
- Science and research methodology, (dr Sonja Marinkovic, dr Miroslav
Savkovic)

B. Specialized courses: 
- Cultural industries /film, music, publishing/, (Andreas Wiesand, Simon
Perry)
- Studies of theatre, opera nad perfomance art, (dr Aleksandra
Jovicevic, dr Dimitrije Golemovic, dr Dragana Stojanovic Novicic)
- PR & marketing, (dr Divna Vuksanovic, mr Marina Markovic, Zoran
Blazina)
- Cultural rights and networking in culture, (Delia Mucica, Corina
Suteu, dr Patrice Meyer-Bisch)

C. Optional courses: 
- Islamic Art and culture, (Raya Shani)
- Byzantine Art and culture, (Dr Mileta Prodanovic)
- The media theory, (dr Divna Vuksanovic, dr Milanka Todic)
- The history of Balkans, (dr Smilja Marjanovic)

Teaching methods include: Lectures, workshops, study visits, assessment
analysis, case study as well as regional internship and research in
another country in the region. The final study period (final year) will
be devoted to writing of theses under the auspices of mentor.
