Sweden ratifies the Convention for the Protection of National
Minorities and the Charter for Regional or Minority Languages

STRASBOURG, 09.02.2000 - Sweden today ratified the Framework
Convention for the Protection of National Minorities and the European
Charter for Regional or Minority Languages. Ambassador Hakan WILKENS,
Permanent Representative of Sweden to the COUNCIL OF EUROPE, handed
the instruments of ratification of these texts to Walter SCHWIMMER,
Secretary General of the Organisation.
