FIRST ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION
"CAUCASUS: ETHNIC RELATIONS, HUMAN RIGHTS, GEOPOLITICS" (IACERHRG).
On November 11-12, 1999, in Tbilisi was held the 1st Annual Conference
of the International Association "CAUCASUS: Ethnic Relations, Human
Rights, Geopolitics" (IACERHRG).
The main themes of the Conference were: 1) Ethnic Relations and Human
Rights in the Caucasus; 2) Caucasus and Russia; 3) Problems of the
Caucasian Geopolitics. Besides, on November 11 was held the round
table discussion "Rights of Nations".
In work of the Conference participated: Professor David Nissman
(RFE/RL, Czech Republic), Professor Virginia Davis Nordin (USA), Dr.
Yasar Sari (USA), Dr. Bas van der Plas (the Netherlands), Professor
Said-Emin Ibrakhimov (Chechen Republic of Ichkeria), Ibrakhim Yakhiaev
(Ichkeria), Beslan Makhauri (Ichkeria), Dr. Agasi Mamedov
(Azerbaijan), Academician Jondo Bardavelidze (Georgia), Dr. Levan Z.
Urushadze (Georgia), Professor Gigi Khornauli (Georgia), Professor
Giorgi Khoshtaria (Georgia), Dr. Suleiman Gumashvili (Georgia), Dr.
Gela Geladze (Georgia), Dr. Lia Andguladze (Georgia), Teimuraz
Janelidze (Georgia), etc. (40 participants).
At a Conference there were representatives of many NGOs and political
organizations of Georgia, representatives of Mass-Media.
The participants have accepted the Resolution of the Conference.

THE RESOLUTION OF THE FIRST ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE INTERNATIONAL
ASSOCIATION "CAUCASUS: ETHNIC RELATIONS, HUMAN RIGHTS,
GEOPOLITICS"/IACERHRG (TBILISI, REPUBLIC OF GEORGIA, NOVEMBER 11-12,
1999)
We, participants of the 1st Annual Conference of the IACERHRG, express
the protest against new bloody expansion of the Russian empire in
territory of sovereign Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. We condemn bloody
war, which purpose is the genocide and physical destruction of the
Chechen people.
We are indignant of that circumstance, that educated world so quietly
looks on obvious and open genocide of the Chechen nation.
Proceeding from told, we call all democratic organizations of the
world, International Mass-Media and all people of good will of the
world to raise a voice of the protest against that barbarous politics,
which Russia carried out against the Chechen nation and other nations
of the Caucasus. The politics of today's Russia nothing differs from
bloody politics of the Soviet empire of evil.
We in every possible way support the timely and very important
initiative of the International Committee for Human Rights of the
Chechen Republic of Ichkeria about realization of the world march for
peace and we join this initiative. We call all people of good will to
accept active participation in a march for peace.
We call an Parliaments of the countries of the world to support fair
struggle of the Chechen nation and recognize independence of the
Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.
