re question on Canadian centre on nationalism
This is in response to your question in the last minelres message about
whether there are centres on nationalism studies in Canada. I am sure others
with more exact answers will respond to your question but I thought I would
add some information they may not give. Although I am not aware of such a
centre, I do know that most political science departments in Canadian
universities teach courses on nationalism. Also some history departments.
You may be able to put your question to the Association of Universities and
Colleges of Canada (AUCC) whose fax number is 613/563-9745 and their e-mail
is [email protected]
I am attaching for your information a list of Chairs of study in Canadian
universities which teach and research around themes of ethnicity and
interethnic relations, as well as the study of specific groups in Canada.
Most of these work in relation to the Canadian situation but also of course
in relation to the countries from which the groups dealt with came. These
chairs were established with funding from the Multiculturalism Program of
the Canadian government over the last 20 years or so. I hope this is of help
