The theme of the Minority Days 1998 is GIRL POWER. The situation of
young minority women will be analysed and discussed in terms of human
rights, ethnicity, identity, immigrants, political power, sports and
leisure time, minority languages, culture etc.
 
This year we offer two conferences at the same time. Parallel to The
Minority Days the IMER Conference on Migration and Ethnic Relations is
arranged by The Swedish Association for the Study of International
Migration and Ethnic Relations. A separate programme will be sent to
the participants in the Minority Days, who can attend the sessions of
the IMER conference for free.

The Participation fee is 300 FIM (+ 40 FIM for bank transfer costs)
whether you take part one or all days. The fee does not include food
and lodging. Hotel Pommern offers accomodation in double room incl.
breakfast for 200 FIM per person/night and single room for 270 FIM per
night. Guest house from 135 FIM per night. Reservations can be made
through the åland Islands Peace Institute. For other lodging
