Azerbaijan's government prepares to report on tortures


AZERBAIJAN PREPARES A REPORT ON TORTURES
 
On August 19, the President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev signed the
instruction about a preparation the country reports on the Conventions
against torture and against racial discrimination.

The working group was established led by Khalaf Khalafov, a
Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs. Other members of the Group are a
first Vice-Minister of Interior, Zahid Dunyamaliyev; Vice-Minister of
National Security, Bakhish Zeynalov; Vice-Prosecutor General, Fikret
Mammedov; Vice-Chairwoman of Supreme Court, Gulzar Rzayeva;
Vice-Minister of Justice, Akif Rafiyev; Vice-Minister of Labour and
Welfair, Ilqar Rahimov.

The drafts of report must be ready in fourty days.
