Project on media and minorities in Armenia


Dear Collective Wisdom
 
I am writing on behalf of Youth Initiatives Support Center (YISC -
member of Armenian Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations
(AFUCA). YISC is a non-governmental organization with an emphasis in
the areas of youth, peace, education and culture. We will be glad to

First of all I'd like to express my high esteem to such important
activity, carried by your mailing list and wish success to all
participants.

I'd like to ask your advice on following problem: our project MASS
MEDIA COVERAGE ACTION ON NATIONAL MINORITIES IN ARMENIA, including
creation of TV programs, documentary films, and social advertisement
devoted to national minorities' problems and consideration of mutual
understanding within Armenian society was accepted as a
"confidence-building measure" by CBM Steering Group, Council of
Europe, in March 1999. (see attached doc. file)

However, being accepted doesn't mean to be immediately financed, while
the pace of present life insists the introduction of such issue as
soon as possible.

In present situation we will be deeply grateful to have your
experience, guidance and advice about possible partners, who can be
interested in cooperation and other useful sources or donor
organizations you find appropriate. We at YISC will be glad to hear of
your comments and opinion.
