Problems of ethnic Azeris in Georgia

(Translated from Russian by MINELRES)

The authorities of Georgia since recently carry out politics of
suppression of the rights of ethnic Azeris residing in this country.
Following the information about the closing of the schools with the
Azeri language of instruction, the information has been spread about
the prohibition to study history of Azerbaijan in the Azeri-language
schools. Besides, the names of about 30 Azeri villages located in
Bolnisi region will be changed. Appeal of the Azerbaijan's
intelligentsia on this issue addressed to the President Eduard
Shevardnadze remains unanswered.
