Azerbaijan International Magazine proudly announces the birth of a new
Web site related to Azerbaijan: http://azeri.org

This new "baby" was born on Friday, July 21, 2000 and weighed in at 69
articles and 1500 files. For sure, we "carried" this baby far longer
than the usual 9-month term primarily because of the fact that there
is no standard font available for Azeri Latin. We worked extra hard so
that all articles can be viewed with ease and separate fonts do not
have to be downloaded.

1. For Azeris
For the first time in history, you'll find articles available both in
the LATIN script (the official script of the Republic of Azerbaijan)
or in ARABIC script (used by Azerbaijanis who live or grew up in
Iran).

Latin Script: http://azeri.org/Azeri/az_latin/latin_index_ai.html

Arabic Script: http://azeri.org/Azeri/az_arabic/arabic_index.html

2. In English
You'll find articles about the Azerbaijani language that have been
gleaned from our magazine - since 1993. We feel these articles provide
valuable insight into the transition that is taking place in
Azerbaijan related to language and alphabet.
http://azeri.org/Azeri/aboutaz/aboutaz_index.html

3. For Language Learners of Azeri
There are some excellent articles related to the social context of how
phrases and expressions are used in our section called
Sociolinguistics.
http://azeri.org/Azeri/az_learn/az_learn.html

We hope this "baby" will grow up to be big and strong! We are working
hard to develop more and more materials in Azeri. We hope it will
encourage others to develop material on the Internet in the Azeri
language, too.

All articles at AZERI.org are copyrighted by Azerbaijan International
magazine but materials may be duplicated for language development and
educational purposes. We have especially designed the site so that the
materials print off very attractively.

We welcome your comments and suggestions on how to make this site more
useful to you.

Take a peek when you get a chance!
