Subject: Refugees and Migration in Central and Eastern Europe - CHRF publication

New book just published by the Canadian Human Rights Foundation:
Refugees and Migration in Central and Eastern Europe. From Principles to
Implementation: the Role of NGOs. Regional Programme, Moscow, November 11-
15, 1996

The seminar mentioned above was organized by the CHRF and Moscow Research
Cnetre for Human Rights, in fact, also in cooperation with the Forum Eastern
Europe, Canada-based international research group. Since I took part in the
seminar, I ought to say that it was definitely not the best event of the
kind I ever saw, to my taste, too formalized and not sufficiently geared to
the pecularities of the region and real interests and needs of local NGOs.
Besides, the text of my paper in the book contains some serious inaccuracies
, it was just recorded and encoded from the phonogram, without sending to
the author for corrections. So, please, handle it with care when you read
the book :-). However, I don't know if this is the case with the other texts
too. Anyway, presentations definitely contain some interesting data nad
analyses from different regions.
