60 years after ???

May 16th, 1940 May 16th, 2000

ROMA REMIND OF THE FIRST DEPORTATION on MAY 16th, 1940 AND DEMONSTRATE
AGAINST CONTINUING VIOLENCE AND EXPULSION OF ROMA IN FORMER YUGOSLAVIA

On May 16th, 1940, the Nazis began the systematical "Resettlement" of
the "Gypsies" in Germany to concentration camps. Today, after now 60
years, tens of thousands of Roma have fled from the wars in former
Yugoslavia. Those who were able to save their lives from ethnically
motivated violence, NATO bombs and "ethnic cleansing" are seeking out
a miserable existence in inhumane "refugee camps" in Macedonia, Serbia
and Montenegro or are, as in Germany, threatened by deportation. No
"International Union of States" feels responsible for these people, no
western "democratic state of justice", that was willing to bomb for
"human rights" only a few months ago, today is willing to give room
for the victims of violations of human rights and ethnic cleansings.
All international organizations for human rights agree that there is
no return for Roma to former Yugoslavia!

Based on these facts we demand an immediate right to stay for all
refugees in Germany and the NATO member states.

Since the beginning of the Kosovo crisis, thousands of Roma became
victims of atrocities by Albanian militias. More than a hundred
thousand Roma fled from Kosovo due to the atrocities of the Kosovo
Albanians and the NATO warfare. Hundreds of Roma were the victims of
Albanian militias and NATO bombs or were abused by Serb units as human
gun shields! Among all the families who reached so-called safety, not
one that didnt lose relatives, among all the expelled families, not
one whose property wasnt stolen or destroyed. Rapes, murder and
expulsion are still part of the horrible everyday life of the Roma in
Kosovo and former Yugoslavia. Although the "International Union of
States" is aware of this (see reports OSCE etc.), the atrocities
against Roma are swallowed, even systematically hushed up!

The Holocaust of the Kosovo Roma is neither a theme in the media, nor
is it paid attention by those who wanted to "bomb human rights back on
the Balkan" only a few months ago!

Almost ten thousand Roma managed to flee to Germany or were received
welcome as "Kosovo Albanians". Heavily traumatized, hunted and
expelled are these people daily awaiting their deportation "back" to a
state that no longer exists. Back to a scenery that will mean certain
death for many of them.

For more than ten months now, the RNC is trying to talk to the German
foreign minister Josef Fischer as well as the minister of internal
affairs Otto Schilly about the future of the Roma from former
Yugoslavia both of them were not willing to receive representatives
of the RNC until now to speak about the fate of those Roma currently
living in Germany.

There is no way back for the Roma, no home any more in Kosovo or
"remaining Yugoslavia"!

We therefore demand the Federal Government to stand to its
responsibility, resulting not only from the common history of the
NS-Romaholocaust, but as well as a consequence of the participation in
the Balkan war!

For all Roma refugees from Kosovo currently living in Germany an
immediate right to stay!

Accepting Roma refugees residing in Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro
as contingent refugees and receiving them in Germany, like it is done
with the Jews from the former Soviet Union!

The immediate abolition of the movement restrictions for Roma refugees
in Germany

V.i.S.d.P Rudko Kawczynski
