HR NGO re-registered in Belarus


Dear Colleagues on HR' activities,

I have informed you that on 29 April 1999 Minstry of Justice of
Belarus re-registered our organization. Now we have title Belarus
Republican League for Human Rights (BRLHR). We have republican  level
of activities.

Our organisation was created in 1992. First time we submitted
documents for re-restration in autumn 1995, last time we submitted
these documents on 12 November 1999. Only now we received
re-registration.

Main aims of our activities accordingly to our Statut which is
registered by Ministry of Justice are:
 
1. distribution of ideas of tolerance and understanding among people
of diffirent nationalities;

2. receiving and distribution of information which has relations to
human rights problems;
 
Please, note that now we are not BLHR but BRLHR.
 
There was our fighting against Ministry of Justice for this title.
They offered us to delete words "Belarus" and "Republican". I refused
(of course). Then they offered us to create several organisations in
local and regional towns and gave us four days for it. But we were
timely.
