"Turan". Ethnic Azeris constitute 91,6% of the population of
Azerbaijan, and national minorities - 8,4%. These figures were
mentioned by the State adviser on ethnic policies Idayat Orudzhev at
today's press conference held in the party "Eni Azerbaijan"
headquarters. Orudzhev pointed out that those forces which strived to
trigger opposition on ethnci basis in Azerbaijan, have exhausted
themselves and terminated their activities. Touching upon the
situation over the religion and denominations, Orudzhev mentioned that
some currents inside the Islam, as well as missionaries attempt to
propagandise non-traditional religious materials. Without mentioning
particular names, the State adviser acuused [in these activities] a
series of Arab and European countries.
