Opportunities at IJT
Institute for Journalism in Transition
Supporting regional media for democratic change

IJT is seeking to fill several positions in its editorial, programmes and
finance departments. These posts, in London, Prague and field offices, will
enable IJT to complete its formation through the merger of the Prague-based
Transitions  magazine and the Institute for War & Peace Reporting (IWPR) in
London, and allow it to undertake a range of new and existing editorial and
programme initiatives throughout Central and Eastern Europe and the former
Soviet Union. In all cases, IJT is looking for committed, hard-working
professionals with strong initiative and relevant expertise. Compensation
is commensurate with experience.

Project Director, Tblisi

To run a two-year media development programme in the Caucasus, made
possible through funds awarded by the UK National Lottery Charities Board.
Based  in Tbilisi, the Field Director will organise journalist training and
investigative  projects,  assist  our  local partner in the production of a
Russian language bulletin on the region, and collaborate with the editorial
department. Russian language and journalistic experience essential;
managerial experience highly desirable

Programme Officer, Former Soviet Union, London/Prague: Reporting to the
Director of Programmes, the FSU project office provides logistical support
to field offices, assists in the production of information bulletins, and
coordinates the development of new projects and grant proposals in the
region.

Associate Editor(s), London and Prague

IJT is seeking associate editors for the regions of the Russian Federation,
Central Asian republics, the Caucasus and Central/Eastern Europe. The heart
of the editorial team, the associate editors bring detailed regional
expertise and widespread local contacts to commissioning news and features.
