Announcement of vacancy: European Cultural Foundation


Founded in Geneva in 1954, and based today in Amsterdam, the EUROPEAN
CULTURAL FOUNDATION (http://www.eurocult.org) is an independent,
non-profit organisation which promotes cultural co-operation in
Europe. It is both an operating and grant-giving Foundation. It has
its own projects and also works through its associated research
centers and national committees across Europe. In view of the
forthcoming retirement of the current incumbent, the ECF welcomes
applications for the position (m/f)
 
SECRETARY GENERAL
 
who will be in charge of the day-to-day management of the Foundation,
reporting to the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors, with
responsibility for a staff of 25.
 
Candidates should have vision, as well as a true interest and
practical involvement in European cultural relations. They should have
the creative ability to develop innovative programs and should be
familiar with the European cultural community. They should be in a
position to promote international contacts with a wide variety of
organisations, including potential sponsors. Fluency in English and a
working knowledge of French is required; a sound general managerial
experience, preferably obtained in an international environment, is
highly desired.
