Inventory on peacebuilding projects involving women

Dear Friend,

As you may know International Alert are currently initiating an
international campaign, Women Building Peace; from the village council
to the negotiating table. The campaign aims to raise global awareness
of women's experiences and perspectives of peace and conflict, and to
help women better realise their potential as peace-builders from the
village to the international level. It seeks to influence and affect
the implementation of global policies and international standards on
peace, security and development to ensure that gender perspectives are
integrated and women's needs are met. For further information about
the campaign can be found at http://www.international-alert.org/women
or by contacting Bethan at International Alert.

To compliment the campaign we are currently trying to compile an
inventory of organisations based in Europe or working in Europe that
are involved in peacebuilding projects specifically involving women.
By peacebuilding we mean anything which contributes to conflict
prevention, resolution or post-conflict transformation. The inventory
will hopefully include a wide range of organisations and initiatives
from international agencies to small community based projects.

To help compile the information we have produced a questionnaire which
is attached. We understand that your time is precious, but any
information that you can provide will promote your organisation and
contribute to the inventory becoming a valuable tool for others
involved in gender and peace work. Please feel free to return the
questionnaire by email.

Best wishes,

Emily Armistead
