REQUIREMENTS OF PRODUCTIONS AND DISSEMINATION OF PUBLIC INFORMATION

Article 34. Language in which Public Information is to Be Produced and Disseminated

1. Public information shall be produced and disseminated in the State Language or some other language pursuant to the provisions of the Law on State Language and resolutions of the State Commission on the Lithuanian Language to the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania.

2. Radio and television broadcasts transmitted in a language other than Lithuanian, must be translated into Lithuanian or presented with Lithuanian subtitles, excepting instructional, special occasion, special and intended for national minorities broadcasts, as well as rebroadcasts of foreign state radio and television broadcasts or programmes. The Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission, taking into consideration needs of national minorities residing in the zone of coverage of broadcasting programmes may determine in the conditions of license which part of broadcasted and (or) rebroadcasted programme or broadcast should constitute programme or broadcast in the languages of national minorities.
