Art. 2
Basic Criminal Procedure principles

(14) Everyone is entitled to use his mother tongue before the official bodies involved in criminal proceedings. These bodies run the proceedings and issue their decisions in the Czech language.

Art. 28
If it is necessary to interpret the content of a statement or a written document or if the accused declares that he has no command of the language in which the proceedings are conducted, an interpreter shall be called in. The interpreter may at the same time be the recording clerk.

Art. 55
Recording

(4) Recording about a person’s statement shall be recorded in the Czech language even if the person interpreted makes the statement in a different language; if the literal meaning of the statement is of importance, the recording clerk or the interpreter shall also record the relevant part of the statement in the language in which the person makes the statement.
